How do pre-orders work?

At this time, starting January 12, 2023, all orders placed will be pre-orders. Pre-ordering will enable you to place an order in advance as we prepare for inventory to come in and secure the products you want. The orders will then be processed in the order in which they are received and fulfilled within the specified time frame (approx. 7 business days). 

How long does order processing take?

We make every effort to fulfill orders as quickly as possible. Currently, pre-orders placed from January 12, 2023 on for all products has an approximate processing time of 7 business days before being sent out for shipment. 

 You will receive another notification when your order has shipped. 

How long does shipping take?

We currently only offer shipping on orders within the United States and to Canada. All orders are shipped via United States Postal Service (USPS) or United Parcel Service (UPS) based on the shipping option selected during checkout. There are multiple shipping speed options available, therefore, the approximate delivery time is based upon USPS or UPS standards. Each customer is sent a confirmation email that will include a tracking number for the package once it is shipped. 

Shipping time does not include the time it takes for Kinkytress to process your order (As of February 2023: approx. 7 business days). We observe all Federal and National holidays.

Do you ship internationally?

At this time we only ship within the United States and its territories and to Canada. International shipping may be offered in the near future as demand increases.

If you have interest in having us ship to your country, please email us at support@kinkytress.com with your name, country of residence and the approximate amount of hair you would like to order.

How do I check the status of my order?

When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available. 

If you haven’t received your order within 14 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us at support@kinkytress.com with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you.

How many bundles do I need?

This depends on your level of expertise. We use top tier hair extensions and it requires skill. If you are not an experienced braider, it will be best to order 4-6 bundles per crown. However, if you are more experience and can finesse your way around delicate hair, then 4-5 bundles will do you well. 

How much hair should I use?

It depends on what you plan to do with the hair.

For permanent microlocs or Belle Microlocs:

The amount of hair you choose to use will also depend on your clients crown size. Meaning, if you/your client has a small crown, you may not use up to 4 bundles. But if you/your client have a medium/large crown then you may want to get more bundles to be on the save side. 

For temporary braids and twists aka soft twists/braids:

You can use more of less hair because this is a temporary service. 

Is this only for permanent styles like microlocs?

No, you can use Joli Afro Coils hair to achieve temporary soft braids/twists styles. 

Does the hair shed?

Some shedding can be expected. This hair is very delicate and must be handled with care and experience. It is advised to have more hair on hand than you think you may need if you are a less experienced braider, as you may find that you lose quite a bit in the process of adding the extensions to your client's hair. Shedding should not be considered a defect of the product, therefore, refunds will not be given as a result of excessive shedding or loss during an installation process. 

The hair can shed for about 2 weeks after it is installed (usually twists styles shed more) but it should likely be minimal. After about 3 weeks once your hair starts to set, shedding should stop. 

Is the hair truly 100% human hair? Or is it blended with synthetic hair?

Joli Afro Coils is 100% human hair.

Can I bleach this hair?

Yes, it's 100% human hair. 

However, bleach it at your own risk. Just like with natural hair, bleach can cause a lot of damage to the hair. Bleach only after installation. Do not bleach before you install the hair as it may decrease the quality of the extensions. 

Can I color it on my own?

Yes, you may at your discretion but we highly recommend using a professional colorist who can also work with you to maintain the integrity of the hair, while also making sure your own hair is well preserved and doesn't get damaged from coloring, especially if bleaching the hair is involved.

Kinytress does not provide exchanges or refunds on hair damaged by coloring, whether done by a professional or not. 

 

Which is better, the 14” or 18” length?

It depends on your desired outcome.  

For Belle Microlocs:

14" Joli Afro Coils Hair will produce 6-8" Belle Microlocs

18" Joli Afro Coils Hair will produce 12-14" Belle Microlocs  

For Soft Twists/Braids:

You can follow the same instructions above and finesse your way. To be on the safe side, you can't go wrong with 18 inches. But you can still use 14 inches to achieve any length but it may take a little bit more work.

 Can I exchange or get a refund? 

Due to the hygenic nature of our product, we do not offer exchanges or refunds. Be sure to double and triple check your order before finalizing and submitting, as ALL SALES ARE FINAL. However, if you have found that there is a error on our part in what you receive, please reach out to our customer service team within 7 days of order receipt, so that we can rectify the issue. 

In the event that your order arrives damaged in any way, please email us as soon as possible at support@kinkytress.com with your order number and a photo of the item’s condition. We address these on a case-by-case basis but will try our best to work towards a satisfactory solution.
